One of our favorite couples bought tickets to the Connor Garvey + Putnam Smith show happening this Thursday evening at 7:00 PM, but now they can't make it. Rather than ask for a refund, they told us to consider it a donation and to pass the tickets along. Aside from their overall coolness and kindness, this is the sort of thing that makes them one of our favorite couples. So we're gonna do a ticket giveaway! Two tickets are up for grabs, one winner takes all. Deadline is Tuesday noon, read on. (Optionally, if you wanted to, you could go see these two down in Northampton the night before they play here. Tickets are almost twice as much as our presale price though. No snark intended — we're a bunch of volunteers just trying to do right by our community and the performers, and they're running a business.) We Googled "how to do a ticket giveaway" and thumbed through the results... which were the same stupid or undoable ideas over and over, breathlessly extolled by sad wizards trying to sell marketing services. Instead, we came up with our own stupid and undoable idea. But since you're all smart people, it'll be fun. Maybe. Mark has a favorite book. It's fiction, and semi-obscure, and may not be what you'd expect. Them's all the hints you get. But it's not about guessing what that book is. Email your own favorite book and its author to [email protected] by Tuesday noon and whoever's fave is most similar to Mark's (which might end up being a subjective call) gets the prize. After the results are in, we'll send out an anonymized list of favorite books (it'll probably be a short list since we're only giving a day for this thing to work) on Tuesday afternoon, and reveal Mark's. Then you can enjoy the unmerciful oppressive heat of summer (assuming it ever gets here) by sitting in the shade with some good books that other Stage 33 Live folks like.
