Happy Mother's Day!

Say "hi" to mom if you're fortunate enough to still be able to give her a call or drop in on her. If not, give her a thought anyway. Unless you had a bad mom... sometimes that happens. (How much deeper can we dig this hole?)

Decatur Creek won't be playing on Mother's Day as planned... hopefully that will be our final COVID-eaten show. Please enjoy their previous stellar set. The music part anyway. Now that we have crackerjack video editing software, we'll revisit the old cuts for the eventual broadcast programming (for "From the Archive" segments).

The next show still standing is at the end of August. In a bit of kismet, one of the people who played the last show before lockdown will also play the first show after lockdown. We're talking about

. Oh wait... looks like it's Jenna Sawin Rice now. We should ask her about that.

According to the Vermont Arts Council, effective July 4, no state gathering limit is anticipated and the venue rules for COVID-19 will no longer be mandatory... but strongly encouraged. This is pretty good news. It's based on assumptions though.

Down in Massachusetts, dance clubs and nightclubs will be allowed to reopen on August 1. "All industry restrictions will be lifted at that time, and capacity will increase to 100% for all industries, with businesses encouraged to continue following best practices."

We don't normally book summers at Stage 33 Live anyway. Sometimes we'll have special things, but for summer 2021 we've been declining all inquiries because of the lingering pestilence.

 definitely and

maybe are doing outdoor shows though. Next Stage got some goodies.

We're itching to have your butts in the comfy chairs! Oh, did we tell you? We've got Boccelli's comfy chairs. Boccelli's was a listening room / restaurant here in Bellows Falls that's been closed for some time. These things came already steeped in our kinda juices, having served during shows by the likes of Dave Alvin and The Guilty Men, Stan Ridgway, Rebecca Loebe, Tom Russell, The Sweetback Sisters, Peter Mulvey, Eilen Jewell, Gurf Morlix, Richard Shindell, Brooks Williams, Antje Duvekot, Alejandro Escovedo, Cliff Eberhardt, Rosie Flores, Red Molly (founding member

has since played our room), and more.

So there's that. Megathanks to anyone who flipped a few bucks into the

Fund jar at a show, or made a donation for

on the website… these chairs are because of you.

And we also have the

, the video quality can be broadcast-ready going forward... one of the big goals we had from the very beginning. Syndicating to regional public radio and television networks (cross fingers) and any other broadcaster that wants to carry it will be good for the participants and good for Bellows Falls.

It was at this point where we careened off on an entirely needless and agonizingly long mishmash of backstory, whining, and descriptions of business practices that would make an actual businessperson's head go into spin cycle. You don't need that, it's the weekend! If you're desperately curious, you can drop us a note and we'll email you the draft. We're carelessly sending this out on a Friday night and are fully expecting that the open rate will plummet.
