Hi folks! A quickie to thank those of you who signed up for these hitherto nonexistent mailings at some point via the website or the Facebook page and were wondering if anything was

ever

going to come, and to thank those of you who signed up the other day at the Greater Falls Farmers Market in Bellows Falls.

Things are barreling along, though it might not have seemed like it from outside the bubble. For instance, we're now a registered Vermont nonprofit corporation and a federally recognized 501(c)(3). All growed up.

The final infrastructure hurdle is a few lingering mission-critical pieces of needful gear, and we've applied for a small grant that (if approved) will get us over the hump and down to the business at hand of shining some hard-to-come-by light on our local and regional performers and academics... which will encourage more local participation in those things... and by sharing our treasures widely, we'll show that the mid-Connecticut River borderlands is an embracing and engaging place to live, and a swell travelling destination for arts and smarts.

We're hoping to have a series of taping sessions this winter! You'll totally get one of these in your inbox as soon as anything firms up. They'll be open as listening events to the adoring public. And if you or someone you know has some music or spoken word art or science or humanities to share, please drop a line to

. (There's a remote chance that we'll be overwhelmed with interest; it's particularly unlikely in the first season, but possible. Being realistic includes not precluding the unexpected.)

Oh, and we're also conspiring with the Greater Falls Farmers Market to partner up on the monthylish winter markets - holding them indoors at 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls, the home of Stage 33 Live. So that's another thing. We're thinking about uptempo fare that won't overpower conversation yet will contribute to a festive atmosphere. Let us know if that seems like you. (We love heartfelt singer/songwriters too, but they'll be better honored at the listening-event tapings.)

It feels like we're forgetting something important.
